I would like to become an ASORC member, but I am not sure if I qualify. I have a post graduate degree in Psychology, but have been working as a Rehabilitation Counsellor for a while.
ASORC has established criteria to determine the category of membership an applicant may apply for, including accreditation of a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Applicants should submit applications providing as much information as possible regarding their qualifications and professional experience to enable the Membership Committee to determine the applicant's eligibility against current membership criteria.
I used to be an ASORC member but have let my membership lapse. Can I rejoin?
Do I have to go through the whole supervision process again?
Can I just pay the membership fees for the years I allowed my membership to lapse?
ASORC altered its membership criteria to uniformly apply to all States and Territories of Australia from April 2005.
Payment of membership fees for the years during which membership was not renewed will not be accepted in order to reinstate a lapsed membership.
All former members seeking to rejoin ASORC are required to submit a new application form for assessment against the present membership criteria. Subject to meeting current minimum academic qualifications, supervision will not be required of an applicant if undertaken and successfully completed whilst previously an ASORC member.
